Systems and Audits

Even with the right people in all the right places, control and coordination is vital in turning the wheels that ultimately move an enterprise along the road to progress. She gives her uncompromising attention to detail and persistently stresses the need to not only note progress, but to concisely chart and analyze it. Good systems ensure that poor management does not frustrate those who have learnt the nobility of toil. Departments and the corporate body at large, must have targets and benchmarks. Parameters that can be used as measures of progress, retardation or stagnation must be present. Audits on the other hand, are not merely faultfinding missions, but opportune bases of collective retrospection and lessons for the future.
Business Process
Order, predictability and purpose are obviously important to Ms. Rionge. Even then, people are encouraged to think broadly and creatively. They are urged to take control of their abilities and dockets and to use them effectively and in a flexible manner.Varying circumstances are not to be viewed as foes to corporate procedure and formalities. They are actually welcome instances for quick thinking, new methods and even bold experimentation. Njeri always encourages people to “Think out of the Box!”
Training and Mentoring
One of the bold experiments she has put into practice is called role-playing. In this particular activity, a staff member is given the opportunity to spend one day (Friday), occupying the docket of another staff member and carrying out the responsibilities therein. It is an opportunity to develop in depth knowledge of the system within which one works and attempt to empathies with the pressures and challenges other staff members face.
Other Interests
There is more to Njeri than just ICT. She is a loving mother to Waruiru, a willing giver to varied charitable causes and a member of a rich mix of organizations. The latter include the American Business Association, the Organization of Women in International Trade, All African Business Women, the Kenya Women Finance Trust, Urukundo investments and the Kenya Rwanda Association.
